My 2014 "Must Have" Calendars!

If you are not already following The Art Of The Doll - Photography By Sharon Wright on Facebook, it is totally worth the occasional headaches of being Facebook's advertising audience and marketing reaseach pool to do so.  :D  She creates magic with her photos, bringing dolls to life in a way other photographers don't match.   She has a unique eye, and you will swear the dolls in her photos are strolling down the street shopping, skipping rope, or performing ballet.

And this year she is making some of her fantastic prints available in a calender for 2014.  One she is devoting entirely to the Integrity doll line, including photos of one of my favorites, Poppy Parker.

However, the one I must have is her "Toys" version.  It features the first picture of hers I saw, showing Monster High dolls playing "keep away" with one of their heads.  That photo started me following her, and is still one of my favorites.

But you need to check out January and November.  A little blue fox Binky Boo she purchased from me a few months ago is featured on those months.  I still find myself grinning when I see the little guy "in action"!

For $17.00 plus shipping ($6-$17 depending on the method you choose), I think either of these calendars (or both!) would be the perfect gift for the doll and toy lover in your life.  I already shamelessly pleaded for the Toys version for Xmas.  If you order today (Dec 11, 2013), you could still use the least expensive shipping and get it in time for Xmas.  *hint! hint!* :D

I'll admit I did a lot of jumping up and down in excitement when I got the message from the artist herself about the Toys calendar yesterday evening!  (Fortunately the curtains were drawn, so only my cats had to bear witness.  :D )

Thank you so much to Sharon Marie Wright for featuring my work in your Toys calendar!  I'm thrilled beyond words, honored, and very grateful for all your support.  I can't wait to see what you come up with in 2014 and beyond!

More Holiday Sewing Done!

For some reason, the Thanksgiving Day holiday here in the U.S. helps me unwind more than any other.  I'm lucky enough to not have to worry about cooking, and instead get to be the guest at my BFF's house.  The way it works with my paying gig, I actually get four days off in a row.  The end of the year is approaching, but the real rush hasn't quite hit, and most of the people who would need me are taking the full holiday off, as well.

So, I managed quite a bit of sewing!  This is just a small sample, and are the dolls I have listed on eBay right now.  I have several other dolls set aside for my Dec. 14th, 2013 craft bazaar quickly approaching!

The red haired Pocket Poppet doll is one of my favorites.  I decided to give her a little "beauty mark" on her left cheek.  ;)

She is up for auction at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=301033205245

The brunette Pocket Poppet is available here.

Preparing For The Holiday Rush!

The craft bazaar I signed up for is right around the corner, and naturally I am nowhere near my goal of completed items for it.  But, something that has been taking up at least 2-3 hours of my time every evening for several years has finally been taken off my plate, and I can now use my evenings to sew and knit.  This just wrapped up last week, so I'm still in a bit of shock, but I did a lot of sewing this weekend, so I think I can get into the proper swing of things pretty quick.  :D

In the meantime, I did complete two ponies, and four Pocket Foxes.  I'll be listing half on eBay, but the other half is getting set aside for that bazaar.

And I already have six little dolls ready for wardrobes, and another four Binky Boos cut out and ready to sew up.  I have a little less than three weeks to get ready now, but I like to think I work well under pressure.  At least when it's something I enjoy doing.  :D

Some New Dolls Completed Over The Weekend!

With the holidays looming, and my decision that I needed to try a craft bazaar again this December (after nearly a decade of avoiding the stress), I finally got back into the swing of sewing this weekend.  Plus, I actually had a few things caught up that actually gave me time to sew, but I'll still count it as a win in the "initiative" column.  :D

Random Photos!-New Little Dolls, Plus Some Monsters...

I did get my Poppy Parker doll set, but a sick kitty and life in general got in the way of taking lots of photos.  And in the way of sewing, and taking pics.

But fortunately my old kitty is doing better, and now I'm just fighting the day job and other chores for time to play.  :D

I managed to make some more Binky Boos, a Pocket Poppet, and finally, some Mini Blobby Monsters.

My Wilde Imagination Amber doll agreed to pose with a monster or two.  :)
